Shaheed El Hafed, 23 March 2024 (SPS) - President of the Republic and Secretary General of the POLISARIO Front, Mr. Brahim Gali, bid farewell to the Cuban Ambassador to Algeria and the Sahrawi Republic, Mr. Armando Vergara, upon concluding his diplomatic mission.
During the reception, President Brahim Gali praised the efforts of Mr. Armando Vergara in enhancing the bilateral relations between Cuba and the Sahrawi Republic, wishing him success in his future endeavors.
The Cuban Ambassador expressed his pleasure for the reception offered in his honor by the President of the Sahrawi Republic, stating that he will remain faithful in defending the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence.
The meeting took place in the presence of Mr. Malainin Tgaana, former Ambassador to Cuba who has been assigned a mission in the Presidency of the Republic, and the central director in charge of Latin America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Salem Hamadda.
Cuba and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) established diplomatic relations "with embassies in their respective countries" in January 1980.
