Algiers, 4 December 2023 (SPS) - The Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC) of the South African Republic, Fikile Mbalula, has reaffirmed that his country, which has diplomatic relations with the Sahrawi Republic, is "ready to make concerted efforts to enable another colonized people in Africa to exercise their right to self-determination," reported APS.
During his meeting, Sunday, with the President of the Algerian People's National Assembly, Mr. Brahim Boughali, Mr. Mbalula renewed "his country's unconditional support for just causes in the world, such as the Western Sahara and Palestinian causes."
Mr. Brahim Bougali appreciated the coherence of positions between Algeria and the Republic of South Africa on a number of regional and international issues of common interest. He particularly emphasized the need to work towards enabling the Sahrawi people to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination in accordance with the decisions of the African Union and the United Nations.
The South African delegation was also received, Sunday, by the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf.
President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, received Thursday a delegation from the African National Congress (ANC), which conducted a solidarity visit to the institutions of the Sahrawi state and the Polisario Front. (SPS)
