In an opening address, the chairman of the EUCOCO, Pierre Galand, condemned European countries' double standard in dealing with conflicts in the world.
He said that the participants in the EUCOCO Conference came to Toledo to "show their disagreement with this policy and their solidarity with all peoples fighting for their dignity, basic rights and freedom."
He called on the UN Security Council to implement Resolution 1514 on the right to self-determination for colonized peoples.
Galand expressed total support to the Palestinian people, commending their resilience in the face of the Zionist genocidal aggression in the Gaza Strip, which killed and injured thousands of people.
"Today, the Palestinian people have told the rest of the world that they were dignified people, able to fight" against the Zionist occupation army and face its sophisticated weapons.
Pierre Galand added that the EUCOCO Conference would work, throughout the meeting, to find the most appropriate means and methods to help Western Sahara people in their struggle to meet their aspirations.
Speaking on Behalf of Algerian MPs, the chairman of the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs at the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament), Miloud Hanafi, said Algeria would never stop defending the just cause of Western Sahara people until their full independence.
He stressed that Morocco's violation of human rights in Western Sahara should be condemned at the international level, emphasizing the need to put an end to the expansionist policy of Morocco in this non-autonomous territory.
