Toledo (Spain), 2 December 2023 (SPS) - The chairman of the Algerian National Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (CNASPS), Said Ayachi, said Friday in Toledo, Spain, that the Algerian delegation participating in the 47th conference of the European Coordination of Support and Solidarity with the Saharawi People (EUCOCO) mirrors Algeria's ongoing solidarity stance with the Sahrawi people.
“The Algerian delegation is very strong with 24 parliamentarians in addition to members of the CNASPS delegation. This very significant Algerian presence (...) is a guarantee for the Sahrawis who are comforted, it must be said, in the idea that Algeria stands by the Sahrawi people in their just struggle for freedom and independence,” Ayachi said in a statement to Algeria Press Service, shortly before the opening of the 47th EUCOCO conference.
In addition to the Sahrawis, Ayachi said that the Algerian delegation also wishes to convey a message to the participants of the conference to tell them that “despite all the false speeches of the Moroccan occupation regime, Algeria remains in a steady position alongside the Sahrawi people.”
“Algeria's stance is not based on a subjective assessment of the problem but on a fundamental consideration of respect for the international law which indisputably acknowledges the Sahrawis' right to freely choose their destiny through a self-determination referendum,” he said.
