Algiers, 12 November 2023 (SPS) - Leaders and delegates from Algerian political parties will visit Sahrawi refugee camps on Monday and Tuesday to show their solidarity with the Sahrawi people and support their just struggle for self-determination, announced the organizers of this initiative on Sunday.

During this visit, members of this important delegation will have exchanges with Sahrawi officials regarding the latest developments in the Sahrawi question and will also conduct an "objective assessment of the situation to better understand the challenges and stakes generated by the Moroccan occupation of the Western Sahara territory following the disastrous Madrid Agreements," stated a press release from the National Republican Alliance (ANR), which will be part of this delegation.

The visit is an additional opportunity to reiterate "the rejection of any form of colonization and to demand respect for international law, which clearly recognizes the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and to freely choose their destiny," it added.

In this context, the press release recalls that "the United Nations and the African Union are called upon to promptly implement the texts that govern them in order to allow the emancipation of the last colonized people on the African continent."

In addition to the ANR, the delegation will also include members from the Union of Democratic and Social Forces (UFDS), El Karama Party, El Wassit Party, EI Assala Party, Tajamoue Amal El Djazair (TAJ) Party, Free Democratic Front (FDL), Nidhal El Watani Front, Algerian Green Party for Development (PAVD), El Islah Movement, Algerian Renewal Party (PRA), and Renewal and Development Party (PRD).
