Kampala (Uganda), October 11, 2023 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Mohammed Sidati, was received by the President of the Republic of Uganda, Mr. Yoweri Museveni, in his capacity as a special envoy of the President of the Republic, and the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr.Brahim Ghali.
Minister Mohamed Sidati delivered to the Ugandan President a written message from his brother, President Brahim Ghali. He also conveyed to him the warm greetings of the President of the Republic and his determination to continue working with him to embody their common ambition to advance fraternal relations and cooperation between the two brotherly countries to the highest levels.
During the meeting, the Ugandan President affirmed his support for the struggle of the Sahrawi people and his intention to accompany them until they achieved their freedom and independence, stressing the position of the Sahrawi Republic in the hearts of the African peoples and the Ugandan people in particular.
President Museveni stressed the need to respect the principles and charters founding the African Union, noting that “Africa’s freedom will not be complete until ending the occupation of Western Sahara, and this is a feature of our loyalty to our founding fathers of the free and united African edifice.”
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohamed Ali Mohamed Al-Daf, Chargé d'Affairs of the Sahrawi Embassy in Uganda.
