Chahid El Hafed, October 12, 2018 (SPS) - The First International Conference of Liberation Movements, parties and African political forces was held on Thursday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the SADR under the auspices of the President of the Republic , Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Brahim Gali.
This event was attended by representatives of movements, parties and political forces of several African countries such as Algeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Namibia, where they discussed the relevant experiences of struggle against colonialism in Africa. The conference received messages of support from party leaders in Mozambique, Angola and various political forces from different friendly African countries.
Brahim Gali, in his opening address, called the attendees to have more mobilization and action on the part of all Africans to urgently resolve the conflict in Western Sahara over the basis of the Charter and the resolutions of the United Nations and the African Union.
In this context, the Saharawi President stressed that POLISARIO will continue cooperating and willing to enter into direct negotiations with the Kingdom of Morocco to resolve the conflict, through the implementation of the settlement plan for the year 1991, that Africa is a partner in the preparation and execution of it.
Gali said that responsibility for the decolonization of Western Sahara rests with Africa, as confirmed by the successive summits of the African Union, the last of which was organized in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott.
The President of the Republic said that this meeting reflects the importance that Africa attaches to its peoples and countries that remain under colonialism and is a clear message that Africa is not yet completely free until the colonialism of Western Sahara is eliminated and end of Morocco's illegal military occupation of parts of the territory of Western Sahara.
