Geingob, defended on Thursday in New York for the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to freedom and independence, welcoming the appointment of Alexander Ivanko, the new special representative of the UN Secretary General in Western Sahara.
"It is now almost 50 years that the people of Western Sahara are still waiting to exercise their inalienable right to freedom and independence," the Namibian president lamented during his speech at the UN.
