Oudaya Local Prison (Marrakech), 4 January 2020 (SPS) - The Oudaya Local Prison Administration in Marrakesh, Morocco, on Friday deported Sahrawi civilian prisoner, Hussein Basheer Brahim Maadour, to the local prison of Ait-Melloul on the outskirts of the city of Agadir in southern Morocco.
According to the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners in Moroccan Jails, which cited family sources, the Sahrawi political prisoner who is serving unfair sentence of 12 years during his presence at the local prison of Ait-Melloul, was severely beaten by prison staff and guards as a result of his protest against the cruel and degrading treatment, by placing him in the so-called discipline district in a cell lacking health conditions.
The prison administration has denied the Sahrawi civil prisoner access to the outside world since his arrival from Oudaya local prison, indicated the same source.
In the same context, on December 31, 2019, the prison administration of “Carcel Negra” in the city of El-Aaiun, the capital of the occupied Western Sahara, deported Sahrawi civilian prisoner, Mohamed Karkar, to the local prison in Bouzkerne, on the outskirts of the city of Guelmim in southern Morocco.
