Moroccan prison administration isolates Sahrawi political prisoners on hunger strike in occupied city of El-Aaiun

El-Aaiun (Occupied Territories), January 16, 2017 (SPS) – Moroccan prison administration of “Black Jail” in the occupied city of El-Aaiun isolated Saturday Saharawi political prisoners Ali Saadouni, Khalihenna Fek and Nourdin Arkubi, who were on hunger striker, at solitary confinement and destroyed their possessions.
The prison authorities took punitive action against Sahrawi political prisoners after they reached their 11th day of unlimited hunger strike they announced on January 4, to protest against their arbitrary detention and deplorable prison conditions after they were prevented from visits and using phone to contact their families.
Saharawi political prisoners Ali Saadouni, Khalihenna Fek and Nourdin Arkubi,  have been subjected to arrest in the public street in December, in occupied city of El-Aaiun and unfair sentence of up to two-year prison was issued against them by the so-called the court of appeal, on the back of their participation in several peaceful demonstrations to demand the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and the creation of a UN mechanism for the monitoring of human rights in Western Sahara.
