Dakhla (Sahrawi refugee camps), July 08, 2016 (SPS) - The struggle of the Sahrawi people to snatch their independence “is also ours,” affirmed Friday, in Dakhla, Salvadorian senator Manuel Flares.
“The struggle of the Sahrawi people to snatch their independence is ours because it is a just struggle,” said Manuel Flares in a statement to APS, in the works of the extraordinary congress of the Front Polisario which kicked this morning.
“We came from South America to attend this congress, to bring a message of support and solidarity to the Polisario Front and Sahrawi people,” he added, affirming that Salvador is “determined to support the Front’s new direction and to work in close collaboration with the new Sahrawi president who will be elected on the occasion of this congress.”
The extraordinary congress of the Polisario Front “Congress of martyr Mohamed Abdelaziz” is being held to elect the Secretary General of the Front and the new president of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) who will take over from late president Mohamed Abdelaziz, passed away on 31 May 2016 following a long illness.SPS
