Frente Polisario guest at meeting of European left-wing parties in Madrid

Madrid, April 22, 2012 (SPS) - Frente Polisario took part Saturday, as a guest of the struggled peoples, at a meeting of the European left-wing parties organized in Madrid under the theme: “for a social Europe”, in the presence of more than 30 parties and French parliamentarians, informed PILSARIO representation to Madrid.

Organizers invited POLISARIO representative to Madrid to participate at the meeting, which was held at Rafael Atocha’s hotel (Madrid), on behalf of the struggled peoples.

Speaking at works of meeting’s second session, Saharawi representative expressed thanks and gratitude in the name of the Saharawi mission, speaking about the latest developments on the Saharawi cause including discussions of Security Council to UN Secretary General’s report on Western Sahara, undergoing course of negotiations with Morocco under auspices of UN Secretary General’s Personal Envoy, Ambassador Christopher Ross.

The Saharawi Diplomat pointed out to the serious and gross violations of human rights in occupied Western Sahara, arbitrary arrest, unfair as well as physical and psychological torture trails experienced by the Saharawis in the occupied territories of Western Sahara at hand of Moroccan state.

He deplored failure of the UN to conduct a speed referendum in Western Sahara, denouncing France’s position that opposes the extending of MINURSO mandates and Saharawis people’s aspiration to restore the lasting peace in the region.

He therefore valued the important role played by European left-wing parties towards cause of the struggled Saharawi people as well as its constant accompany to the Saharawis through all their struggle stages.

On other hand, components of the movement of solidarity with the Saharawi people in Madrid have participated at a sit-in held outside the headquarters of the Spanish House of Representatives to demand the respect for human rights in the occupied Western Sahara and extending the prerogatives of MINURSO.
