Bir Lehlou (liberated territories), June 25, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, has congratulated the president-elect of Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Morsi, on his election as a new president of the Arab Republic of Egypt, considering that “a hallmark in the present and future of Egypt and its Arabic, Islamic and African existence and a preface for a new era in the region.”
President of the Republic renewed, in the letter that sent Sunday evening, his very careful keenness to “strengthen and develop the bonds of brotherhood existing between the two brotherly peoples and states, Saharawi and Egyptian.”
The President Mohamed Abdelaziz expressed great optimism that the advert of Dr. Mohamed Morsi, to the top of the largest Arab country, Egypt, will be “a good omen and a glimmer of hope for the struggled Sahrawi people,” hoping that a new Egypt will “play its ts natural role in the settlement of Western Sahara conflict, by resorting to the will of Saharawi people in determining their future and self-determination freely and democratically through a referendum on self-determination under the supervision of the international community, as provided for in the various resolutions and charters of the United Nations and African Union.” (SPS)
