Algiers July02,2012(SPS) - The independence of African countries remains "partial" as long as Saharawi people will not attain theirs, Saharawi Minister of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad Mohamed Al Wali Akik said Sunday in Algiers.
"As long as the independence of Western Sahara is not gained, African countries' independence remains partial, because of Saharawi people's daily suffering," said Akik in a meeting organized by the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with Sahrawi People (CNASPS), in the presence of a Saharawi delegation from the occupied territories.
Saharawi people are every day subjected to "all the humiliations by Moroccan authorities," in violation to “all international laws related to human rights, Akik denounced, upset of "the formal" role of the United Nations.
"Algeria set the example in the process of African peoples' liberation by driving out, after a valiant resistance, one of the most powerful armies of that time," he said, praising Algeria's role and " unfailing support" to the Saharawi cause.
For his part, the ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Algiers Brahim Ghali condemned "all the injustices" suffered by the Saharawi people and reaffirmed their "inalienable" right to self-determination in accordance with the international legality.(SPS)
