Johannesburg, Sept 16, 2012 (SPS) - Financial and legal experts of the African Union concluded Friday a meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa, to discuss and enrich the African Risk Capacity (ARC) draft project, run under auspices of African Union and World Food Programme.

The Saharawi Republic was represented at the meeting by the financial expert Mohamed Fadel Salama Jdoud and legal expert and President of the Criminal Court Hamdi Jlili Lehbib.

During the meeting, there has been an explicit rejection to some attempts aiming to involve Morocco, by proposing the membership of Non-Member States of the African Union within ARC.

The two-day meeting addressed the mechanism to set-up the structures, management systems and powers of ARC.

African Risk Capacity is a specialized agency designed to help Member States of the African Union to improve current responses to drought food security emergencies and to build capacity within AU member states to manage drought risks. (SPS)
