Bir Lehlou (liberated territories), Jan 12, 2012 (SPS) - Government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) expressed Saturday “deep concern” over the deteriorating situation in the brotherly Republic of Mali, stressing, in a statement by its Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, the need to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of Mali.

In a written statement a copy of it reached SPS, head of the Saharawi diplomacy reiterated SADR’s commitment to decisions of the African Union on this serious crisis.

On relevant context, National Secretariat of the POLISARIO Front recorded, in a statement concluded its 4th session held on January 5th, Security Council resolution on the crisis in northern Mali, reaffirming POLISARIO’s position that rejects terrorism, smuggling and organized crime.

The statement, therefore, recalled that security and stability in the region will remain threatened as long as the Moroccan state, which, in addition to being one of the largest producers and exporters of drug in the world, violates international law by occupying parts of the Sahrawi Republic territory.
