Harare (Zimbabwe), May 24, 2013 (SPS) - ZANU-PF National Chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo has blasted some Western countries for their double standards by not condemning Morocco’s occupation of Saharawi but quick attack other countries, reported wednesday the Zimbabwean Widespread newspaper “The Herald”
Cde Khaya Moyo made the remarks when Saharawi Republic Ambassador Mr. Saleh Mohamed Cheij, paid a courtesy call on him at the ZANU-PF headquarters tuesday.
He said it was now up to Africa Countries to take a stand against Morocco, which annexed a part of Western Sahara in 1975. “we are disturbed that the International community has not taken action against Morocco despite several resolutions that have been passed by the United Nation over the Issue,” he said.
“But they were swift to take action in countries where it was not necessary like in Libya and Iraq where they still have problems. It is disturbing that western Countries would just go and eliminate a leader of a country for no cause yet Morocco invaded Western Sahara. We are concerned by such double standards”.
Cde Kaya Moyo said it was now up to African Union to come up with the position against Morocco to end that country’s occupation of the SADR.
“We have capacity in the continent to take action against Morocco because this cannot continue. We will continue to speak loudly wherever we get an opportunity. We worked together during the liberation struggle with the Polisario Front. We want to see the Saharawi Republic enjoying its freedom and sovereignty without interference.
“ ZANU-PF will continue to support you against any form of invasion or double standards by the West. Our party and President Mugabe are very clear and firm about the situation in your country. We hope together we can find a way forward so that you can enjoy your God given right to being free people,” said Cde Khaya Moyo.(SPS)
