Oslo, June 8, 2013 (SPS) - The Christian Democratic Party of Norway (Norwegian acronym; KrF) has reiterated its support to the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination, in a meeting between the Party’s deputy leader Mr. Dagrun Eriksen and Polisario Front’s Representative in Norway Dr. Limam Khalil.
Dagrun called on the government of his country to effectively contribute to the search for a peaceful and fair solution to Western Sahara in respect of Saharawi people’s right to self- determination, the source said.
He stressed the need to extend human rights monitoring in the mandate of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO).
The meeting was an opportunity to inform the party’s leading member about the latest developments of the Saharawi issue and the situation of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, underlining Moroccan authorities’ suppression against Saharawi people since 1975. (SPS)
