GUSW takes part in International preparatory Symposium of 7th Conference of Brazilian trade union powers Organization

Sao Paulo (Brazil), July 23, 2013 (SPS) - A delegation composed of the Secretary-General of the General Union of Workers of Sakia El Hamra and wadi Dahab, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Sheikh Mohammed Lahbib, and Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to the Federal Republic of Brazil, Mohammed zruq Aljmani, is participating in International preparatory Symposium of 7th Conference of Brazilian trade union powers Organization, which was launched on Monday evening in Sao Paulo.

 

The seminar is held under the slogan "global crisis, integration, sustainable development, decent work", with the participation of wide international trade unions, amounted to one hundred delegates from various national, continental and international trade union.

 

The Sahrawi delegation has begun since yesterday, a series of meetings and talks with various union leaders attending the event. These encounters dealt with the latest developments at the national level and the future of relations between these various organizations and the General Union of Sahrawi Workers in the light of the preparation going on for international events and activities to support the Saharawi people in their just struggle for freedom and independence.

 

In this context, the delegation met with Mr. Paulo Pereira da Silva, head of the Brazilian labor union and a member of the Federal Parliament of Brazil, Mr. Francisco Javier in charge of international action in the federation of workers trade union of Spain, Mr. Fernando Qambera in charge of international relations at the Uruguay National Central Workers, Mr. Antonio Louis Korea, Assistant of  Secretary-General of the General Union of workers of Portugal, Mr. Jose Elias Torres in charge of strategy in workers  central Union in Venezuela.

 

all the mentioned officials expressed full support to the Saharawi people and the operating forces in their legitimate struggle against colonialism and oppression and hegemony, stressing readiness of their organizations to work together along with the General Union of Sahrawi Workers in all international coming events and commitment to exert more effort and initiatives to activate the work of solidarity with the issue of Western Sahara.

 

The inauguration session of the seminar was devoted to present attendees and delivering speeches of greeting to and then providing lectures on the global economic crisis and the current challenges in the international trade union powers to protect labor and the global economy from further vulnerability and degradation.

 

The International Symposium activities will continue till Tuesday evening, to launch then the Seventh Conference of the mentioned organization which will in turn continue its activities respectively over the past three days. (SPS)
