Dili, Feb 26, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic of Timor-Leste H.E. Mr. Taur Matan Ruak has reaffirmed his country’s solid support to the just cause of the Saharawi people, in a meeting held today at the presidential palace in Dili with the Saharawi ambassador Mr. Mohamed Salama Badi.
Declaring that his country will spare no effort to support the Saharawi cause, the Timorese President indicated that the reception of Mr. Badi as the Saharawi Republic (SADR) prepares to mark its anniversary is a clear manifestation of Timor-Leste’s position of support to SADR.
Saharawi diplomat, for his part, conveyed to Mr. Ruak SADR President’s gratitude for the firm and steady support has always shown by East Timor to the Saharawi people’s fight for freedom and emancipation.
The two sides also examined several issues of common interest, related mainly to the ways to enhance cooperation and boost bilateral relations to serve the aspiration of the two brotherly peoples in East Timor and Saharawis Republic. (SPS)
