FiSahara 11th edition kicks off in Wilaya of Dakhla

Dakhla (Refugee Camps) May 1, 2014 (SPS) -  The 11th edition of the International Film Festival in Western Sahara (FiSahara) kicked off Wednesday in the Wilaya of Dakhla, Sahrawi refugee camps, under the theme "cinema for human rights in Western Sahara."
 
The festival is attended by 300 international participants from different countries including filmmakers, directors, human rights activists and people in solidarity with the Saharawi people in addition to a delegation of human rights activists from the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
 
The event is attended by an important  delegation as guest of honor representing the brotherly state of South Africa including  the councilor of the Minister of Culture, the ambassador to Algeria, in addition to personalities, filmmakers ,directors and a Jazz band. 
 
During the festival, which lasts until May 4, many films of filmmakers from different countries around the world will be screened  including some Arab countries as Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Mauritania, Morocco and Palestine.
 
The Regional festival of culture and folk arts will be also opened  Thursday on the sidelines of FiSahara. (SPS)
