During the end of the first Congress on universal jurisdiction held in Madrid May 20 to 23, Iranian lawyer expressed "deep concern about the fate of the Saharawi people, which is one of the most painful situations in modern history. They are imprisoned in their own land, and their voice is not heard."

The case of Western Sahara is similar to that of Palestine, she added, stressing that what is happening in Palestine is known, while the Western Sahara issue is misunderstood by some countries of the world.

In this regard, the Iranian lawyer called on the media to do more to publicize the suffering of the Saharawi people, who is imprisoned in its own country and deprived of all basic rights, she regretted. (SPS)
