Caracas, October 18, 2014 (SPS) - The independence of the Saharawi people will appear on the agenda of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela when it takes its post as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council on January 1, 2015, according to a report of “the Universal”.
Venezuela should establish positions on 10 themes, including the independence of the Saharawi people and the recognition of Palestine as a state.
Its election to the UN Security Council for the period from 2015 to 2016 occurred with 181 votes.
This is the fifth time that Venezuela occupies a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council, and it will assume the position along with Angola, Spain, Malaysia and New Zealand. (SPS)
