Oslo (Norway), October 19, 2014 (SPS) – The National Council of the federation of Norwegian Christian students has expressed their condemnation to the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara, insisting on respect for international law, particularly on the issues of decolonization.
The Council affirmed in a resolution its support to the right of the Sahrawi people to freedom and self-determination.
The resolution asked the Norwegian government to withdraw investment sharesthat contribute directly in supporting Morocco’s occupation of Western Sahara.
Finally, the National Council of the Federation of Norwegian Christian Students appealed to the international community to put pressure on Morocco and to work peacefully for freedom and independence of Western Sahara. (SPS)
