El Aaiún (occupied territories), Oct 23, 2014 (SPS) - A delegation of the Collective of Saharawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA) on Wednesday evening held talks in El Aaiún, capital of Western Sahara, with the Political Adviser and his deputy at the U.S. Embassy in Rabat.
The 45-minute discussion focused on the terrible situation of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, said a statement of CODESA.
CODESA members expressed regret for that fact that the Moroccan state continues to heinously violate human rights of the Saharawi civilians, in a total disregard to international conventions on human rights Morocco has already signed and committed to put into effect.
The meeting is a result of a request made by the US Embassy in Rabat to CODESA since about a week. (SPS)
