Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Nov 26, 2014 (SPS) - Saharawi political prisoners, incarcerated in Moroccan jails, on Thursday will launch a three-day hunger strike in solidarity with their colleague Mbarek Daoudi, on hunger strike since 25 days, stated the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Diaspora.
In a statement published on Tuesday, the Saharawi political prisoners criticized the convening of the 2nd Annual World Human Rights Forum in Marrakech amid appalling situation prevailed in the territories of Western Sahara, occupied by Morocco.
“Moroccan state seeks to circulate a rosy picture about its policies that contradicts universal human rights system. Morocco also wants to hide from sight its heinous crimes and gross violations of human rights in Western Sahara,” underlined the statement.
They called on free people in the world as well as the associations and organizations working on the field of human rights to exert pressure on Moroccan state to release all Saharawi political prisoners and extend MINURSO mandate to be able to observe, protect and report about human rights abuses.
