Shaheed Elhafed (Refugee Camps), March 30, 2015 (SPS) - Frente Polisario Coordinator with MINURSO (UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara) M'hamed Khadad has denied there are new proposals for the settlement of the Saharawi conflict, adding that "Moroccan media's allegations in this respect are unfounded."

"Some Moroccan media's allegations that there are new proposals for the settlement of Western Sahara issue are unfounded," Khaddad told Saharawi Press service (SPS) on Sunday, adding that the conflict can "only" be settled through a "referendum for self-determination and decolonization in Western Sahara."

Concerning the meetings between Saharawi delegation in charge of talks and UN chief's personal envoy, Christopher Ross, during his visit to the Saharawi refugee camps, recently, Khadad said the two sides broached "the content of a report the UN secretary general will submit to the Security Council early April."

They also raised "the negotiations between the parties to the conflict after the security Council's adoption of a resolution on Western Sahara."

The Saharawi coordinator has called on the United Nations to send "positive signs" to "relaunch the settlement process, put an end to Morocco's prevarications and set a date for the organization of a referendum on Saharawi people's self-determination." (SPS)
