Havana, May 20, 2015 (SPS) - Secretary General of the Saharawi Students’ Union (UESARIO) and Member of the Polisario Front’s National Secretariat, Mulay Mhamed Brahim Saleh, on Tuesday began a working visit to Cuba, to assess at first hand the situation of the Saharawi students currently studying in the Cuban universities.
At the start of his visit, UESARIO Secretary General was received by the Rector of the Cuban Medical University of Pinar del Río, Dr. Nivaldo Blas Perez Porras, along with the person in charge of external relations, in addition to the Saharawis currently studying in the University.
The meeting focused on the latest development on the question of Western Sahara at the international sphere.
The Saharawi official took the opportunity to praise Cuba’s firm position of support to the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence.
Mulay Mhamed is expected to visit the Saharawi students in several universities in Cuba.
He will also attend some festivities and activities organized by the Saharawi Students’ League in Cuba. (SPS)
