Bir-Lehlu (liberated territories), October 12, 2015 (SPS) The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, called on the UN organization to assume its responsibilities towards the decolonization of Western Sahara, in a speech delivered at the opening ceremonies celebrating the fortieth anniversary of national unity in the liberated town of Bir-Lehlu.

"The Saharawi people in their struggle deserves to live free and independent in peace and stability, and the United Nations needs to assume its responsibilities in the decolonization of the last colony in Africa and organize a just and democratic referendum to allow the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination and independence ", estimated the president.

"It also deserves the protection of the international community against oppression and tyranny of the Moroccan occupation, stop the Moroccan plundering of natural resources of Western Sahara, and the release of all Saharawi political prisoners still languishing in prisons Moroccan, especially the Gdeim Izik group sentenced by a Moroccan military court to harsh sentences, and the dismantling of the wall of shame which is a crime against humanity, "he added.

"The Sahrawi Republic is now a factor of balance and stability in the region, because the Polisario Front, the only legitimate representative of the Saharawi people, runs a cultural project based on the consecration of democracy, justice, equality and coexistence facing the Moroccan policy of expansion, aggression against its neighbors, tension and instability in the region, through the drug trafficking and the financing of organized crime gangs and terrorist groups "said President Mohamed Abdelaziz.

"The intransigence and arrogance are the qualities of the occupiers and colonialists throughout history. Their only support is the strength of injustice and aggression, but victory finally return to the oppressed peoples with the force of law and justice, "he said. (SPS)
