Madrid, November 13, 2015 (SPS)-The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, on Friday has kicked off in Madrid, the 40th International Conference in Support and Solidarity with the Saharawi people with the participation of Delegates from more than 30 countries, representing governments that officially recognize the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
The Solidarity conference was attended by political leaders and trade union, members of regional institutions, local, jurists and personalities from the field of culture and numerous spokespersons of NGOs and friendship associations with the Saharawi people.
Human rights activists also from occupied territories also attended this edition of EUCOCO such as Aminatu Haidar.
The main objective of the conference is to claim the inalienable right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence and contribute to the peace process to move forward in resolving the conflict, and to denounce the systematic violation of human rights and the plundering of Saharwi natural resources by Moroccan occupation in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
