Bir Lehlou (liberated zones), November 27, 2015 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente Polisario, Mohamed Abdelaziz, sent a letter of congratulation to the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz, on the 55th anniversary of the independence of his country, wishing the brotherly people of Mauritania more progress and prosperity.

The President of the Republic expressed his confidence in the Mauritanian brotherly people, under the leadership of Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, on the completion of the process of construction, and strengthen the foundations of prosperity for Mauritania, recalling the bonds of brotherhood and friendship and excellent relations between the Saharawi and Mauritanian peoples.
President Mohamed Abdelaziz reiterated willingness to further consolidate the bonds of brotherhood and friendship happily exists between the two friendly countries and peoples.
Mauritania achieved independence from France on 28 November 1960. It has been recognizing the Saharawi Republic (SADR) since 28 February 1984. (SPS)
