Dakhla (Refugee Camps), December 19, 2015 (SPS) The Sao Paulo Forum has appealed to the governments of Latin American countries to recognize the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), in a letter to the 14th Congress of the POLISASRIO Front, Congress of Martyr Khalil Sidimhamed held in Dakhla(Refugee Camps), 16 to 20 from December.
"We, members of the Forum of Sao Paulo, call on all governments in Latin America and the Caribbean countries to recognize the SADR and support the legitimate right of the Sahrawis to self-determination through a fair and transparent referendum," said the letter.
The Forum welcomed the ties of friendship that unite the Forum and the Sahrawi people, affirming its support for the struggle of this people to snatch its right to self-determination and independence. "The struggle of Sahrawis represents a battle for the completion of the process of decolonization of the last colony in Africa", the letter added.
The Sao Paulo Forum declared that the struggle of the Saharawi people is a part of that of all the peoples fighting for justice and a more democratic world. (SPS)
