Sahrawi-SwedishWomen demand Swedish society to pressure Sweden for recognition of the Sahrawi Republic

Dajla, February 09, 2016 (SPS) - Sahrawi women and their counterparts Swedish, on Monday called the Swedish government, all political parties, the institutions and civil society organizations, to support the efforts calling for the embodiment of the recognition of Saharwi Arab Democratic Republic by Sweden.  .

 

 “The recognition is useful way to put pressure on the Moroccan regime and its allies in order to comply with the international legality and allow the organization of a free, fair and impartial referendum enables the Saharawi people to choose their own destiny and contribute to the establishment of security and peace in the Western Sahara.” The statement said.
 

The statement pointed out that the Saharawi people still struggling for more than 40 years in order to obtain the right to self-determination and independence, underlining that Western Sahara is the last colony African still occupied by the Moroccan invasion since 1975 after Spain withdraw the territory without the completion of the decolonization.
 

The statement also emphasized that the Sahrawi women living in hard circumstances forty years ago in the refugee camps under harsh conditions and in the occupied territories has been targeted by the Moroccan repressive apparatus, denouncing the situation in which the Sahrawi women suffered during four decades.(SPS)
