Shahid El Hafed, February 21, 2016 (continued) - Secretary of State for Documentation and Security Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed Mahmoud has stressed that “accusing Sahrawis of terrorism by Morocco is an attempt to distract the international attention from the Saharawi cause.”

He indicated Sunday, in a statement to the Sahrawi news agency (SPS), that Morocco has consistently disseminated this propaganda since the beginning of its invasion of Western Sahara. "In the seventies it claimed that the Polisario Front was an extension of the communist movement in the region, in the early eighties as a group of Cuban, Vietnamese and Khomeinis mercenaries, in the beginning of the nineties as fundamentalists and extremists and in the beginning of the 2000 as a den for terrorism and drugs and in the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016 as an incubator for terrorism."

The Secretary of State for Documentation and Security refuted this malicious propaganda. “Saharawi people have nothing to do neither with the drug gangs nor with terrorist cells, which is propaganda aimed at pleasing France and extorting money of Gulf states.”

On the security coordination with neighboring countries, Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed Mahmoud confirmed that the Sahrawi state is not isolated from what is happening in the region and it is in cooperation with these countries and assumes its responsibilities as a member of the African Union and Committee of Intelligence & Security Service of Africa "we are an active partner" resulting in a good security situation in the refugee camps and liberated zones.

He emphasized that "the struggle of the Saharawi people is a just one, the Saharawi people have one goal that is the national independence, it does not live a vacuum, it is organized politically, and needless of any form of adventure."

International reports, including the report of the US State Department, had confirmed that the Polisario Front is not a terrorist organization, recognized by international organizations including the United Nations, it is a liberation movement seeks to achieve equality and democratic values.
