Madrid, 25 March 2024 (SPS) - The representative of the Polisario Front in Spain, Abdullah Al Arabi, has affirmed that the only just and final solution is the one that ensures the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence.
The Sahrawi diplomat reiterated in his speech during the first conference of the Spanish party SUMAR the importance of ensuring the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence, calling for the necessary measures to be taken for Spain to fulfill its responsibilities towards the Sahrawi people.
Al Arabi emphasized Spain's responsibility as an "administrative power" and the need to "comply with its obligations under international law," pointing out that "international law is clear regarding the situation in Western Sahara."
In the same context, the Sahrawi diplomat highlighted the historical and ongoing solidarity of the Spanish civil society with the Sahrawi people, stating that "the most significant solidarity movement with the Sahrawi people comes from the Spanish society, and it is a decisive fact that must be taken into account when making decisions related to the Sahrawi issue."
Abdullah Al Arabi affirmed that the Sahrawi people is fully determined to continue their struggle for freedom and independence.
