Addis Ababa, 17 February 2024 (SPS) - Mr. Khatri Adouh, the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, participated in the inaugural meeting to make 2024 the year of education, science, technology, and innovation in the African continent.
The meeting, which was attended by Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde and African Union Commissioner Moussa Faki, as well as the African Union Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Mohamed Belhocine, and some African education ministers, witnessed interventions on the need for Africa to get rid of the legacy of colonialism and to develop the educational field and enter the fields of technology and innovation.
In a statement to the media, the Minister of Education and Vocational Training stressed that the Sahrawi Republic chaired the technical committee that oversaw the drafting and approval of the working document and roadmap submitted to the 37th AU summit for adoption.
The Minister affirmed that education is a significant challenge for the continent that requires great attention, especially in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
