Shahid El Hafed, 29 January 2022 (SPS) - Sahrawi Prime Minister Bouchraya Hamoudi Bayoun said Thursday that strengthening the combat capabilities of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) and deploying the available capacities are among the priorities of the government's program for 2022.
The Sahrawi official's remarks were made during the review of the government's program for the year 2022 before the plenary session of the Sahrawi National Assembly, chaired by Speaker of the National Assembly, Hama Salama, in the presence of members of both bodies.
The Sahrawi Prime Minister said that, "the government's program for this year comes in a particular context marked by the worsening of the conflict with the Moroccan occupier and its allies on all fronts, including the military front, characterized by an escalation after the return to the armed struggle, following the breakdown of the ceasefire by Morocco on November 13, 2020.
This situation "requires a coordination of national efforts and calls for challenges in several areas of national action to adapt to the reality of the war and meet its human and material needs based on the main priorities," added the Sahrawi leader.
