Bir-Lahlou, 22 March 2020 (SPS) - President of Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali has congratulated the President of the Republic of Namibia, H. E. Hage Geingob, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Namibia.
The following is the full text of the congratulatory message:
“H. E.  Mr. Hage Geingob
President of the Republic of Namibia
Windhoek.
Excellency,
On behalf of the Saharawi People and government and on my own behalf, I sincerely congratulate your Excellency and the brotherly people of Namibia on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Namibia.
I would also like to convey my most heartfelt congratulations on your inauguration as president of the Republic of Namibia after having won a well-deserved confidence of the people of Namibia.
Excellency and dear brother,
The historical relationship that unites Namibia and the Saharawi Republic is a clear proof of the shared values and principles our two nations have been fighting for the last four decades. Both Namibians and Saharawis have fought hand in hand against colonialism, apartheid, racial segregation and natural resources plunder by colonial powers and multinationals. We are still standing together for these same goals and will continue until victory is achieved.
The Saharawi people and government always pride itself of having such a friend and strategic ally in Namibian people and government. The sound success of Namibia, under the leadership of SWAPO, in running a vibrant country, respectful of human and people rights, and exemplary in terms of the respect of the rule of law and good governance is a good motivation for the people of Western Sahara to scale up their legitimate struggle to gain full control over all our territory, still partly occupied by neighbouring Morocco.
Namibia has never forgotten its roots. It continues supporting its brothers and sisters Saharawis in their legitimate struggle for freedom and independence. Namibia continues to be a voice for freedom and liberty in all regional and international forums. And for that, we will forever be grateful.
Finally, Your Excellency and dear brother, I will not find enough words of thanks and congratulations for Namibia for being here for all Africa and Africans. Therefore, I will reiterate my personal congratulations to Your Excellency and to all the people of Namibia, wishing them more development, success and stability.
Your Brother and Comrade.
Brahim Ghali
President of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic
Secretary General of Polisario Front” (SPS)
