International Trade Union Forum concludes its work, pledging support for Sahrawi workers in their liberation battle

Awsard (Refugee Camps), 23 October 2022 (SPS) - The work of the International Trade Union Forum for Solidarity with the Sahrawi people concluded its work on Saturday, pledging support for Sahrawi workers in their liberation battle.
The closing ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, who stressed in his speech that The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, affirmed that the large participation of trade union delegations in the International Trade Union Forum of Solidarity with the Sahrawi people, strengthens the support and backing for the Sahrawi cause, especially since it is held at a time when Sahrawi workers in occupied cities of Western Sahara suffer horrific abuses.
President Ghali said that this forum is held at a time when Sahrawi workers in the occupied cities of Western Sahara are suffering horrible police abuses, calling on this occasion, the trade unions to help lift the blockade imposed on workers in the occupied cities.
For President Ghali, the forum is also held "at a time when the Sahrawi natural wealth is plundered by the occupier, and in an exceptional situation marked by direct confrontations with the Moroccan occupation that violated the ceasefire agreement on November 13, 2020.
The participants in this forum reaffirmed their support for the Sahrawi people in its legitimate struggle.
The event was also marked by a ceremony of honouring international trade unions for their continuous efforts in supporting Sahrawi workers and their defense in the global trade union fora.
The forum was concluded with recommendations calling on the international community to work to end the ongoing violations of human rights in the occupied cities of Western Sahara.
The forum witnessed significant trade union participation from the various international trade union organizations that maitain partnership and cooperation relations with the Sahrawi Workers' Union.
