Caracas, 13 October 2022 (SPS) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro reiterated, in a tweet on the occasion of the Declaration of National Unity on Western Sahara whose anniversary is celebrated on October 12 of each year, his support for the struggle of the Sahrawi people, affirming that the victory of his cause was imminent.
"Salutes to the Sahrawi people on the occasion of the celebration of the day of Sahrawi national unity, please accept the admiration, solidarity and unwavering support of Venezuela to the Sahrawi people," he wrote, adding that "the victory of the cause of Western Sahara is imminent.
Venezuela has consistently expressed its unwavering position on Western Sahara, calling for a fair and peaceful political solution that allows the Sahrawi people to exercise its right to self-determination.
Venezuela continues to advocate for a fair and mutually acceptable solution to the Western Sahara cause within the framework of the relevant UN resolutions.
