Shaheed Al Hafed, 20 November 2022 (SPS) -  The Sahrawi Committee for Human Rights expressed its condemnation of the repressive practices practiced by the Moroccan authorities against Sahrawi children in the occupied cities of Western Sahara.
In a statement on the occasion of the International Children's Day, the Committee expressed its full solidarity with all children of the world deprived of the fundamental rights declared in the relevant international conventions, especially the families, mothers, wives and children of the prisoners of the "Gdeim Izik" epic and all Sahrawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons.
It condemned Moroccan practices contrary to all international norms that affected Sahrawi children throughout the years of occupation, especially the continued practice of torture, assassination and deprivation of normal life away from terror and violence.
She called on the UN Secretary-General and the UN Security Council to provide an independent UN mechanism to monitor and report on human rights in Western Sahara and to initiate the requirements of international humanitarian law in Western Sahara.
