Minister of Education chairs Third Knowledge Conference on Education in Africa

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), November 21, 2024 (SPS) - Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario front, Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Mr. Khatri Adouh, chaired the Third Knowledge Conference on Education in Africa, held in the Nelson Mandela Hall at the African Union headquarters in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, as the First Vice Chair the STC-EST representing the North African region.

The Conference was an opportunity to discuss effective ways to overcome the challenges facing the African continent in its quest for innovative approaches to improve the quality of education and address challenges, including lack of adequate funding, difficulty for students to access educational opportunities, and a shortage of qualified teachers and their training.

In his opening speech of the Conference, , Mr. Khatri Adouh summarized the state of education on the African continent, highlighting the challenges, as well as successful and commendable models in some countries of our continent.

The Conference, which will last for three days, is expected to make recommendations and decisions that will contribute to improving the quality of education on the continent.

Mr. Khatri Adouh participated in several workshops on the sidelines of the Conference, where he presented solutions, concepts, and the Sahrawi experience in the educational field, which received praise and appreciation from the attendees.

The minister also held numerous bilateral meetings with several individuals and international institutions to explore cooperation and contribution to education development, concluding these meetings with a meeting with the AU Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Mohamed Belhocine, where they discussed the evaluation of the recent field visit to the Sahrawi Republic and the examined of areas of mutual understanding and cooperation.
