Khartoum (Sudan) 05 January 2023 (SPS) - A group of active Sudanese personalities in various bodies and organizations of Sudanese society announced, in a statement issued yesterday in Khartoum, the establishment of “the Sudanese Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People".
The Sudanese personalities who established the committee emphasized that their motive is "belief in human rights to justice, freedom and equality, and in the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, considering this right as the highest and most important right, which the Saharawi people were unable to practice because of the succession of colonial powers and their standing against the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence."
The Sudanese Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, chaired by the professor and journalist Khaled Taha, aims to introduce the Sahrawi issue within Sudanese community and contribute to pushing for a just and fair solution that ends the tragedy of the Sahrawi people in accordance with the United Nations charters and international humanitarian law.
