Shaheed Al Hafed, 24 October 2022 (SPS) -  The Polisario Front has reaffirmed that the relaunch of the peace process in Western Sahara remains conditional upon an explicit renunciation of adherence to confiscating the Sahrawi people's right to freedom and self-determination.
In a statement culminating the meeting of its Permanent Office today, Monday, chaired by the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, the Polisario Front reaffirmed that the relaunch of the peace process in Western Sahara remains dependent on an explicit renunciation of the adherence to the confiscation of the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence and compelling Morocco to put an end to the rebellion against international law and legitimacy.
If the responsibility of the United Nations and the Security Council vis-à-vis the decolonization of Western Sahara, Africa's last colony, is at stake, the statement adds, the Sahrawi people today more than ever will continue with unanimity, faith and confidence its just and legitimate struggle under the leadership of its sole legitimate representative, the Polisario Front, until the full sovereignty of the Sahrawi Republic over its entire national territory is achieved.
The Office commended the broad support that the national cause received during the deliberations of the United Nations General Assembly and its Fourth Committee in its current session, as well as when the issue was brought to the table of the Security Council.
The Permanent Office of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front reiterated the Sahrawi people's thanks and gratitude to all the brothers and friends who stood firmly by their side at this historical stage of their struggle, led by sister Algeria.
