Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), May 18, 2023 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, issued on Thursday, a presidential decree includes a decision to pardon a number of inmates of the rehabilitation institution, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Polisario Front and the outbreak of the armed struggle.
The decree stated “Based on the power of the Constitution, and on the occasion of the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia el-Hamra and Rio de Oro and the outbreak of the armed struggle, Mr. Brahim Ghali, President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, issued a presidential decree today, May 18, 2023, containing a decree pardoning a number of inmates of the Rehabilitation Institution.”
According to the same decree, a number of the inmates benefited from the presidential pardon, where others received a commutation of sentence.
