Submitted on

Rabat (Morocco) July 18, 2011 (SPS) - Nearly 1500 Moroccan protesters gathered Sunday in the Moroccan city, Rabat, to demand political and economic reforms in response to the call of the February 20 Movement, Moroccan media and websites reported Monday.

The Moroccan security forces prevented the protesters to gather outside the parliament headquarters.

The protesters raised slogans calling to “down to regime” “stop corruption” “resignation of government” “dissolution of parliament” and “social justice,” before a group of regime’s supporters tried to deter the demonstration.

The demonstration, which attended by supporters of the Moroccan Party of Justice and Charity, comes 5 months after the protest organized on February 20, 2011. (SPS)
