All aid to Sahrawis is a political act of support to self-determination

Madrid, July 29, 2011 (SPS)-- Head of Extremadura Parliament Fernando Manzano affirmed Tuesday in the capital Mérida that all humanitarian aid for the Sahrawis must be considered as an "act of solidarity" with the Sahrawi cause and a "political act of support to the holding of self-determination referendum" in Western Sahara, local press reported Wednesday.

During a meeting held at the parliament headquarters in Merida on the humanitarian aid program in the region of Extremadura to the Saharawi refugees, Mr. Manzano stressed "the need to coordinate all aid from the humanitarian associations of support for Saharawi people, municipalities and regional administrations."

The spokesperson of the leftist parties represented in the parliament, Pedro Escobar, highlighted in the presence of representative of the Polisario Front in Extremadura, Badadi Benamar, "the relationship more than friendship and brotherhood" that joins his political family to the Sahrawi people.

Moreover, The local press announced the arrival of groups of Sahrawi children from refugee camps in Extremadura, within the framework of the program "Holidays in Peace", organized annually by the support groups in collaboration with municipalities and the Polisario Front Representation in Spain.
