President of the Republic draws attention of Ban ki-moon to Moroccan escalating steps against sharawis in occupied territories

Bir Lahlu,August 13,2o11(SPS) the President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front ,Mohamed Abdel Aziz, drew attention of the UN’s Secretary General ,Ban ki-moon, to the escalating steps of Moroccan occupying authorities in front of peaceful resistance movement in the Saharawi occupied territories in particular in the occupied  city of Laayoune on last Monday and Thursday leaving  more than  eight causalities among the Saharawis.

“in dangerous escalating step the occupying authorities of   Moroccan launched a comprehensive oppressing campaign in streets and neighborhoods of the city of Laayoune the capital of the occupied Western sahara, after it banned a peaceful demonstration used to be organized by the saharawis after  the Prayer of tarawih” said the message of the President to the Secretary General of UN .

The President of the Republic expressed deplore that the repression against the saharawis happening in a territory under the authority of the United Nations, calling for inclusion of mandate of MINURSO to cover monitoring and protecting human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

“This new illegal and immoral action reminds terror atmospheres that accompanied and followed the Moroccan military aggression against Gdaim Izik camp in November8, 2011 it unfortunately happening against population of a territory in direct responsibility of the United Nations waiting decolonization”

The President finally explained that these practices of repression areaimed not only to "sow a climate of fear and terror" among the Sahrawi civilians, but to confiscate the right of the Saharawi people to demonstrate and their refusing of plundering of their natural resources (SPS)
