Tindouf (Algeria) September 15, 2011 (SPS) - The activities of the Third Edition of the Cultural Week of the Sahrawi Republic (SADR) in the Algerian town of Tindouf concluded Thursday morning, which is supervised and organized by Algerian Ministry of Culture and the Wilaya of Tindouf, in cooperation with Sahrawi Ministry of Culture, in the period between September 11 - 15, with the participation of Sahrawi cultural delegations, artistic groups and poets, in addition to national and Algerian media.
The Sahrawi Minister of Culture, Mrs. Khadija Hamdi, noted that the cultural week was a "clear expression of the Algerian historic position in support of the struggle of the Saharawi people.
At the end of the concluding ceremony, the Governor of the Wilaya of Tindouf, Mr. Abdelhakim Shatir, handed the Sahrawi Minister of Culture humanitarian assistance for the Sahrawi refugees, including trucks loaded with food and school stuffs.
Many activities were organized during the event which lasted 5 days, such as cultural and political lectures, poetry sessions for Sahrawi poets, artistic evenings, exhibitions, traditional gathering and screening of Gdeim Izik film directed by Mexican Antonio Velázquez and Spanish Isabel Terraza.
