Santiago de Chile, Oct 5, 2011 (SPS) - The Saharawi Ambassador on a mission to Chile, Mr. Zrug Larousi, received Monday by the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee in Chile's Lower House, Mr. Carlos Abel Jarpa, according to the SADR Embassy on mission to Chile.
During the meeting, the Saharawi diplomat briefed his interlocutor about the latest developments on the Saharawi cause, in particular the latest tragic events in the occupied city of Dakhla.
The Saharawi Ambassador took this opportunity to appreciate the continued support and solidarity of Chile with the Saharawi struggle for self-determination and independence.
From his part, The Chilean official renewed the sympathy of his country and people with the people of Western Sahara in their struggle for freedom, self-determination and independence.
It should be recalled that the Republic of Chile holds the status of chairing the Rio Group. It is also a member of the UN Special Committee on decolonization. (SPS)
